Two Rivers Massage was named for the two vibrant, wonderful rivers which flow directly through the Quad Cities - the Mighty Mississippi River and the Rock River. Water, according to Jung, represents the
emotions; water cleanses, water flows, is constantly moving, is always
changing; water nourishes and maintains not only human life, but the life
of flora and fauna. We here in the Quad Cities are so blessed to live
so close to two wonderful rivers. I chose the nameof Two Rivers Massage
to honor these awesome waterways which not only make our cities beautiful,
but also provide entertainment to so many - fishermen, walkers along the
river-side paths, boaters, jet skiers, swimmers, and of course a place for
the casino boats to cruise on.
The Big Dipper constellation was chosen for
my logo to honor the great State of Alaska where I spent the majority of
my adult life. Alaska is an awesome place, and in my heart, I will
always be an Alaskan. There is an indescribable pride in all Alaskans
which probably is borne from the beauty of the mountains, the water, and
the wildlife, all of which abounds everywhere for as far as you can see.
The Big Dipper has always been my favorite set of stars, and whenever I
travel out of the USA, it is my goal to locate the Big Dipper and the North
Star - which I always am able to do.
Also, the Big Dipper and North Star are on the Alaska State Flag.
The Alaska State song starts off: Eight stars of gold on a field of
blue, Alaska's flag, what it means to you...(or something close)
Yin/Yang (pronounced yeen/yawn) symbol is
very simple - it represents balance. The Yin part is the dark half
and represents feminine (not femininity) while the white half is Yang and
represents masculine (not masculinity). It also represents the balance
of dark and light, summer and winter, old and new, etc. etc. Every person
has a Yin side and a Yang side, and it is our goal to live life in the balance
which this represents.
The flowing of the Yin/Yang symbol represents the two rivers flowing and
bringing balance to our lives here in the QCs. |
