Pamela Fisher grew up in the Quad Cities and
graduated from Moline High School in 1977. Three years later she got a
summer job in Skagway, Alaska, and ended up living there for the next
20 years. In early 1998, Pam followed her gut feelings and enrolled in
an acupressure apprenticeship at the Alaska Whole Health Institute,
which led her to the University of Alaska Anchorage Therapeutic Massage
Program. She completed her 500-hour acupressure apprenticeship and her
1,025-hour massage program in June 1999.
Ten days after graduation, Pam had an accident on her Harley (riding
back to Anchorage from the HOG Rally in Fairbanks, Alaska) and broke
her arm, giving her ample time to rethink her future. At the end of
July 1999 as she was about to remove her cast, she made the
life-altering decision to move back to the MidWest to be near her
family. Pam bought a house in Moline, closed her bank accounts in
Alaska, transferred her truck and Harley titles to Illinois, and
settled in for anything but a boring life in the Quad Cities.
Pam opened Touch and Go Chair Massage kiosks at the Quad City Airport
and NorthPark and Southpark Malls, and then opened Two Rivers Massage
in downtown Moline. Since then, Two Rivers Massage has grown into one
of the most recognized and respected massage therapy businesses in our
area.
Pam reorganized and taught the Black Hawk College 600-hour Massage
Therapy and Bodywork Program in 2001/2002, and offers Partner Massage
class to anyone who would like to learn how to massage at home; as well
as continuing education courses for massage therapists.
Pam no longer massages. She has developed Two Rivers Massage and
del Sole Barefoot Spa into such a wonderful massage practice, that her
full time job is doing the scheduling, bookkeeping, marketing,
advertising, and basic management of both places. Pam used to
offer d a r n good Swedish and Therapeutic Massage with
craniosacral therapy added in as needed. She used to offers
acupressure,
hot stone massage, chair massage, and was THE ONLY THERAPIST IN THE QCA
to offer Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy. Pam formerly taught the Partner
Massage Workshops and offered massage parties in your home or office.
Pam loves to give and receive massages; however, when she is not
working, she can be found riding her Harley (a 2007 FLHRSE3 Screamin'
Eagle Road King),
camping, fishing (fly fishing preferred), or walking her dog, Buster,
an Australian Blue Heeler, which she found at www.petfinder.com
