Welcome to Two Rivers Massage.
If this is your first time to Two Rivers Massage,
there are a few things to do. First of all, call Pam at (309) 79-RELAX
(797.3529) to make your appointment. We will gladly make an appointment
for you today; however if you know a day or two in advance, you can be
assured of the exact day and time that you'd like.
On the day of your massage, please be sure to
arrive 10 minutes early so you can complete the health intake form.
Your massage therapist will go over your Health Intake Form with you to
make sure we can safely offer you a massage.
Please arrive freshly showered, especially if you have a very physical
job where you get sweaty or dirty.
There are a few reasons why we CANNOT do a massage
on certain people. For example, if your doctor says you should be
taking High Blood Pressure medications, or if you are diabetic and YOU
DO NOT TAKE YOUR MEDICATIONS, then we probably won't do a massage for
you. If you have varicose veins, we CAN do a massage, however, we will
avoid the area if they are swollen, bulbous veins.
Pregnant women are encourage to get regular
massages! It is recommended that you call your doctor and ask if
a massage is okay. We do not require a note, just a verbal
approval from you.
We pride ourselves in starting your massage on
time, and not making you wait. But we do have a few expectations
of you --
1) Please arrive 5-10 minutes BEFORE your
scheduled massage time
2) Turn off your cell phone so it doesn't disturb other guests
3) Use the bathroom prior to your start time
4) If you are late (meaning arriving here AT your start time,
instead of 10 minutes early), we will only be able to massage you at
the time frame reserved for you. For example, your time frame for
a one-hour massage may be from 1000a til 1100a; if you show up early,
we will begin your massage promptly at 1000a and complete your massage
at 1100a; if you show up at 1000a and it takes 5 minutes for you to get
prepared and on your massage table, we will begin at that time and
still end at 1100a and you will be asked to pay for the full
hour.
5) If we are running late, we will give you the full hour (60
minutes); however, if that makes you late for where you need to
be, we will adjust your massage time and the rate you have to pay.
WHAT TO EXPECT
DURING YOUR MASSAGE
You will receive your massage on a massage table in a treatment
room. Your therapist will give you clear instructions on how to
get prepared for your massage, and will leave the room while you
undress. If at any time you need clarification, be sure to
ask again.
You can get totally undressed or leave your
underpants on - whatever your comfort level is. You are welcome
to wear gym shorts. Then you'll slip between soft sheets and
settle in for your massage. Remember, you are ALWAYS 100% covered
with sheets and a blanket! We will have you move your arms and
legs out from under the covers only while we are working on that
area. The covers are secure and tucked in so that your privacy
remains intact, and you are warm and comfortable.
The session begins with a scalp and facial
massage, moves to neck and shoulders, right arm, right leg, feet, left
leg, left arm. Then remaining covered, you'll roll onto your stomach
where the massage starts at your feet, one leg at a time up to gluteal
(rear) muscles (optional), to your back, shoulders, and neck. One limb
at a time is uncovered, leaving the remainder of your body securely and
warmly covered.
NOTE - some therapists begin the massage with you
on your tummy. There is no "correct" way to begin...it is up to
your therapist.
Please be sure to tell your therapist if you are
too warm or cold, or if the pressure is comfortable or not. It is our
intention to provide the best possible massage experience for you, with
your help.
HEALTH INTAKE FORM
You need to come in about 10 minutes early to complete a Health Intake
Form. If you'd like, (and this works), you can print a copy of
our form, complete it at home, and bring it with you. Still need
you here early tho! (best way to print this form, is to
drag it onto your desktop, then hit print)
